Many people wake up early in the morning, brave the weather, go outside, and retrieve their newspaper to read the news of the day.  As they sit with their cup of coffee and breakfast they read the headlines and nine times out of ten sigh at the world in which they live.  But there is Good News, it is just a matter of us searching a little harder or opening our eyes a little wider; and in those moments that we discover the Good News we also find Jesus.  And just like the woman at the well stated, Jesus will proclaim all the Good News to us so that our lives will be truly blessed. 

ABC is excited to announce the theme for their weekend retreats this year as “The Good News: All Will Be Well”.  Through this theme retreatants will explore how Jesus taught the woman at the well that All Will Be Well regardless of who you are, what you’ve done, or what you fear.  As we challenge teens to open their hearts, we pray that they will discover how Jesus is in their everyday lives and is THE source of Good News that can change their world.

Being a teenager is difficult.  Being a Catholic is difficult.  Put the two together and it is impossible without God.  But as St. Paul tells us in his letter to Timothy, even young people are called to live out their faith in our society.  Regardless of age, followers of Christ are to be examples in every aspect of life.  As we begin this year’s journey, we pray that God’s grace will give you the courage to live what you believe and the faith to know that the love of Jesus is with you through it all.
